Sigma Kappa provides valuable leadership development opportunities to its members. As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in at least one extracurricular activity during their collegiate experience. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them.
This upcoming semester, Sigma Kappa is very excited to sponsor and be a part of UMass FTK's 2017 Dance Marathon which is a 12-hour dance marathon that will be occurring on April 8th. Last year over 300,000 dancers across the country raised $31 million for Miracle Network Children's Hospitals. Specifically at UMass, Sigma Kappa was fortunate enough to pull our resources to become the top fundraising RSO on campus, with multiple individuals raising nearly $2,000 each. Every dollar that UMass Dance Marathon raises goes directly to Baystate Children's Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts and we look forward to continuing to raise awareness and money throughout the semester for such an amazing cause.
