Recruitment Fall 2019
Meet the Greeks: Wednesday, September 11th in the Student Union Ballroom
You'll learn about the great benefits of sorority life here at UMass Amherst through the voices of the sorority women themselves! You'll learn about the great personal growth opportunities, involvement on campus, academic and support resources and so much more! You will hear all 8 sororities speak and you will have a chance to go up to each one at their booth and ask questions! On this day you will receive your “Rho Gamma” and “Rho Gamma Group” which is a small group and group leader that will go with you to most events.
Philanthropy (Day One): Thursday, September 12th-
During Round 1 of Recruitment, you'll learn about all the different philanthropies that each sorority chooses to support! They will explain what events they hold or participate in during the year as well. You will see 4 sororities this day.
Philanthropy (Day Two): Friday, September 13th-
During Round 1 of Recruitment, you'll learn about all the different philanthropies that each sorority chooses to support! They will explain what events they hold or participate in during the year as well. You will see the other 4 sororities this day.
Sisterhood Day: Saturday, September 14th-
During Round 2 of Recruitment, you'll learn more about the aspect of sisterhood, how a sorority serves as a guide and resource throughout the college experience. You will visit a maximum of 6 sororities this day.
House Tours Day: Sunday, September 15th-
During Round 4 of Recruitment, you will have the opportunity of touring the different houses of each sorority, or if they do not have a house, you will learn about what the members do to stay connected with one another. You will visit a maximum of 4 sororities this day.
Preference Night: Monday, September 16th-
During Round 4 of Recruitment, you will have more in-depth and intimate conversations with sorority women about their organization and experiences.
You will visit a maximum of 2 chapters on this day. At the end of round 4, you will be asked to indicate which sorority you would like to receive an invitation to membership from in preference order.
Bid Day: Tuesday, September 17th-
On bid day, you will receive an invitation to membership from one of our eight organizations on campus. You have the option to accept or deny the invitation at that time. Those who accept will later complete one of our biggest traditions and you will be reunited with the sorority in which you have chosen to join.
